Our classroom time between seasons is winding down and ski trips are just around the corner. We have been busy doing a cross-curricular unit on Salmon in BC. This unit included a trip to the Fraser River for a lesson with Ernie Victor, Jade's dad, and an expert on salmon. Thank you Mr. Victor. Next Wednesday we will be visiting the Skowkale Fish Hatchery to harvest and fertilize eggs from three Coho Salmon, which we will be in charge of raising in the hatchery over the winter. We finished the classroom part of this unit with a student led seminar last week. Great job everyone. We will be going to Whistler Blackcomb on December 12 and December 18 next month. The forms for this trip have already been sent home with students and it is also attached below. Most students have already returned this form but I need all forms in by Thursday to let Whistler know our ski rental details. Our Purdy's fundraiser has been a going great. Just a reminder that the deadline to order chocolate is December 1. Chocolate pick up is December 10 between 3:00 and 5:00 PM. I have put the Purdy's account information at the end of this post. We will have on more fundraising in the next months. Finally, the Chilliwack Centre of Excellence has been busy with a number of Pool Sessions. A few of our students and even some of us teachers have been out learning how to role our kayaks or just improving our skills. Please see the CCE sportical calendar by following this link: http://chilliwackcentreofexcellence.sportical.com/ The club also asked be to post the following information about a special lake paddle this Saturday.
